Step 1:
The vast majority of analysis was conducted in Esri - ArcGis. Steps included but are not limited to tiff to raster layer, union, clip, table to excel export, and linking excel files to shapefiles.
Step 2:
Points were created in Cartodb at every intersection on the main roads in Kampala and designated as potential trash can locations. Points were then exported to Esri.
Step 3:
In Esri, the points and raster layer were unioned and converted into a geojson file. The file was then transferred to cartodb.
Step 4:
Original raster layer with population density is displayed in cartodb.
